Military Brat

First day in the new apartment, and I still can't help but think about what the hell I'm going to do with my future. I love my 2 video oriented jobs right now but I want to do something even bigger. And right now I need more schooling to do that.

The dream is to head straight to LA or New York and work my way up but the problem is I feel that I'm not ready and don't know the right people yet. It sucks but networking is such a huge part of this career path I've chosen. That's why I've been wanting to jump into a graduate school closer to those areas that could take me and ease me into the atmosphere. But then there's the whole problem of paying for this additional schooling.

Soooo I've been looking into various video-oriented jobs with the military and it sounds pretty enticing. I'm almost to the point where I want to set up a meeting with a recruiter just to hear what they have to say regarding their knowledge of the subject.

But besides the decent pay, which I need to go freelance in the future, and the help with graduate school, I'm also drawn to it because of my love of traveling. Then again, as exciting as being an Army MOS 25V Combat Documentation/Production Specialist sounds, I'll most likely be taking pictures for these soldiers' military ID's in some dark corner in an unknown town, but hey, who knows? There's still that chance of new discovery... right?

Only problem is, then I'll have to get in shape... ugggggh.

Oh, and by the way, I don't have efficient interwebs at the new apartment yet so I'll most likely be skipping a few of these... not that anyone is even reading. But anyways...

TODAY'S TASTY TRACK
For those who enjoy: Classic Rock (60's/70's)

Paul & Linda McCartney
"Monkberry Moondelight"
Come on, you knew it wouldn't be long until I praised a Beatle. I love this looked-over song in every way possible. This comes from the great 1971 album "Ram".

-If you enjoy this track then follow it up with... just about anything else by any of The Beatles.

Hesitation Despite Relocation

Well, it's the start of what's going to be a very busy week in Portland. Today's the day I move all my belongings from Forest Ave to Stevens Ave AKA the other side of Mickey D's (and still walking distance from it, which is what hooked my fat ass to the apartment's location in the first place).

Not only that, but I have 3 video shoots lined up for Tuesday through Thursday and just enough editing/transcribing to make Steven Spielberg cry in his sleep. Despite the massive amount of packing I still have looming, somehow I have the time to type this useless post. But first, I have to tell you something...

EDDIE WATCHED A TRAILER
(Yeah, I don't have a creative name for this section yet. Maybe I'll come up with something.)

Bruce Robinson's "The Rum Diary"

I've been excited about this film for quite a long time. It's based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson and stars everyone's favorite dude who doesn't age, Johnny Depp. You might remember the last time Depp associated himself with the Gonzo mind of Thompson; when we received Terry Gilliam's rendition of "Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas", which I thought was an absolute classic in the weirdest of ways. I'm beyond ecstatic to see this film finally come to fruition after over a decade of development.

Release Date: October 28th, 2011

TODAY'S TASTY TRACK
For those who enjoy: New Hip Hop (Emphasis on lyrics)

Kendrick Lamar
"Look Out For Detox"
I wouldn't repeat the words of Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, and Game by saying he's the "New King of the West Coast" but I'd definitely say he has the potential.
Watch him rise.

-If you enjoy this track then follow it up with the beat's origin: "You Know Me" - Childish Gambino (Donald Glover)

Well that just about covers everything. And by "covers everything", I mean I'm already sick of typing. Since tomorrow's Tuesday, expect my mind to be on cheap chicken wings.

Been meaning to do this for a while...

Alright I'm not going to lie, I've been meaning to start one of these bad boys for quite some time but I've just never had the absolute motivation or time. Daily, I do a lot of creative writing, videotaping, music editing, music discovering, and of course simple observing so why not become productive and place all these scrambled thoughts onto the web so others can bitch about it? Sounds like a good idea to me.

Thus, Eddie B!og is conceived. This is my personal space to post my creativity as well as others' work that stands out. I also want to use this little area to fester future ideas and inspiration.

So yeah, let's start it off with something I want to do every single day (or at least attempt to)...

TODAY'S TASTY TRACK
For those who enjoy: 90's Alternative / Indie Rock

Superdrag
"Sucked Out"
An awesome, forgotten 90's band that requires your attention.
Sucks the music video for this song is blocked on YouTube by WMG but this is still hella worth it.
It's off 1996's "Regretfully Yours".

-If you enjoy this track then follow it up with their song "Destination Ursa Major".
